Starks spent the first four years of her life bouncing from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Salt Lake City, Utah and back to Oklahoma before permanently residing in Connecticut. She jumpstarted her writing career as the Entertainment Editor for her college’s newspaper, The Charger Bulletin. She began freelancing for the late-night television news site Last Night On as well as film and television news sites Hidden Remote and Culturess. She now writes for The Parent Watch, a family entertainment site. In between writing, she has also worked in production. She interned at the daytime talk show 'Maury' and has since been a freelance PA on reality TV sets and commercial photoshoots.
She has been published in The Greenwich Sentinel and the CT Mirror and was quoted in an CT News Junkie article about Connecticut colleges resuming in-person classes for the spring of 2021 semester; Written by Kristina Vahkman.
Starks has an eye for emerging talent, having scouted and pitched her interviewing skills on behalf of SHEER Worldwide to secure conversations with artists and musicians such as Jenny Chang Rodriguez, THUY, FIG, Zhané Aliya, and Jordan Occasionally.
